Hi there Christina, Thanks so a lot! I do love it so much increased. 🙂 And positive, the trim was really my idea to robe up the doors and my husband was not sure as to how well it would preserve up but did it for me anyway. I sanded the doors down significantly to get them ready and he scale back, glued & clamped the trim to the fronts. They have held up utterly for almost 10 yrs now, not one problem on any of them. I really feel, to this day, he is shocked the trim objects haven’t loosened or fallen off. 😉

Hi there, I have a question. Good article, BTW! I bought my home 15 months a go. Our kitchen cabinets were widespread picket tone with some variety of shiny varnish on them. Not sure what kind of picket.. presumably pine or white oak? Anyway, my favorite trend of decorating is shabby fashionable, French farmhouse and seashore cottage.. so I wasn’t glad with the picket cabinets. My husband and I spent a week painting them white. We just used a plain stark white semi-gloss paint. I favor matte paint for furniture, but figured that semi-gloss latex paint would be less complicated to clear grease and dirty finger prints off of. We did not sand the varnish off of the cabinets earlier than painting.. we just painted. It is been about a yr and they’ve held up good. We did not add a topcoat of something over the paint, each. Merely two coats of white paint. I want to use antiquing glaze on them. Can I? Will that work on my cabinets? Will it go through the paint and the earlier varnish beneath the paint and into the picket? I’ve by no means heard of it earlier than so not sure how it works. I also want to sand my cabinets to distress them calmly in the raised areas. Merely to make it more chippy. Would I do that earlier than or after the antique glaze? Any suggestions would be helpful! My email correspondence is Megan.Photographs@yahoo.com. Thank you so a lot!
